Terms of Service

Last updated November 4, 2026

These terms are the agreement between you and HWHosting, a small website-building and hosting service run by David Lynch (“we”, “us”). By creating an account or using the service you agree to them. We've tried to keep them short and in plain English.

The service

We build and host websites. Each customer gets their own isolated site container and database on our server. New accounts are reviewed by hand before a site is set up, and we may decline an account for any reason (if we decline after you've paid, we'll cancel the subscription and refund that payment).

Your content

You own the content you or we put on your site for you (text, images, code, data). You give us permission to store, copy and display it only as needed to host and run your site. You're responsible for having the rights to everything you upload and for keeping your own backups of anything important.

Acceptable use

Please don't use HWHosting to:

If we see any of this we may suspend or remove the site, usually after contacting you first, but immediately if it's harming others or the server.

Availability

We work hard to keep sites online and secure, but we're a small service and can't promise the service will be uninterrupted or error-free. It's provided “as is”.

Limitation of liability

To the extent the law allows, we aren't liable for indirect or consequential losses (like lost profits or lost data), and our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the three months before it.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. If a change is significant we'll email you before it takes effect. Continuing to use the service after that means you accept the new terms.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of [TODO: state], USA.
