Privacy Policy

HWHosting is a small website-building and hosting service run by David Lynch. This page explains, in plain English, what information we collect, why, and what we do with it.

What we collect

• Account details: your name and email address, and a securely hashed password.
• Billing: payments are handled by Stripe. We never see or store your full card number. We keep Stripe's customer and subscription IDs and your plan status (for example paid, cancelled or payment failed).
• Your site: the files, content and database you or we put on your hosted site.
• Server logs: like most websites, our server records technical details of visits to hwhosting.com and to hosted sites — IP address, date and time, page requested, browser type — for security, troubleshooting and basic traffic statistics.
• Emails you send us and our replies.

How we use it

• to run your account and host your site;
• to bill you through Stripe;
• to email you about your account, billing or service changes;
• to keep the service secure and fix problems.

What we don't do

We don't sell your personal information, and we don't share it for advertising. We share it only with services we need to run HWHosting (such as Stripe for payments and our server/hosting provider), when the law requires it, or to protect the service and its users.

Cookies

hwhosting.com uses a sign-in cookie to keep you logged in. We don't use advertising or tracking cookies. Stripe's checkout pages may set their own cookies for fraud prevention.

Your site's visitors

If your site collects information from its own visitors, you're responsible for that and for your own privacy notice; we only store it on your behalf.

How long we keep it

We keep account information while you have an account. After your plan ends we delete your site and database, and remove your account on request. Server logs are rotated and deleted after a few weeks. Billing records may be kept longer where needed for tax and accounting.

Your choices

You can ask us to see, correct, export or delete your information at any time by emailing us.

Security

Each site runs in its own isolated container, connections use HTTPS, and passwords are hashed. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect your information.

Changes

If we make significant changes to this policy we'll update this page and email you.
